In 2003, an animated film swept the world, winning an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature and earning $867,893,978 (USD) Source at box offices around the world.
Telling the tale of a young clownfish Nemo (Alexander Gould) who is excited about his first day at school, and his over protective father Marlin (Albert Brooks). On his first day at school, Nemo is captured by a deep sea diver as a gift for his neice Darla.
In the tank, Nemo is taken under the fin of Gill (Willem DaFoe) who is the only fish in the tank to know life in the ocean. GIll decides to set a plan in motion that will return Nemo to the ocean and save him from Darla.
As Gill sets his plans in motion, Marlin is in pursuit of his stolen son, meeting a forgetful Dory (Ellen DeGeneres) who comes along for the adventure. Marlin and Dory encounter many adventures along the way, including 12 Step Sharks, Sea turtles, a journey in the mouth of a whale and a helpful pelican on their way to Sydney.
Finding Nemo is a wonderful, entertaining movie that is saved from being mediocre by some amazing vocal performances by the talented cast. Ellen DeGeneres in particular is wonderful in the role of Dory. Her character in this film is reminiscent of Robin Williams turn as the Genie in Aladdin. A supporting character that steals the show from under the noses of the main characters.
Finding Nemo is a multi-layered film, with plenty to entertain adults and children alike. Running at 93 minutes, it's a fast, easy journey from beginning to end and will keep everyone entertained.
